Il progetto INSIDE (INcluSion of people with Intellecutal DisabilitiE) è un progetto promosso nell’ambito del Programma europeo Erasmus plus sport che mira a promuovere l’inclusione sociale e l’empowerment delle persone con disabilità intellettiva (PwID) migliorando il loro accesso e la partecipazione alle attività sportive.
L’obiettivo del progetto è duplice: da un lato la creazione di materiali che faciliteranno l’accesso della PwID nelle attività sportive e nei giochi e dall’altro il miglioramento delle capacità dei professionisti riguardo all’empowerment delle PwID attraverso lo sport
Per questo il progetto si propone di realizzare:
una metodologia di empowering innovativa per sport e giochi che fungerà da strumento per i professionisti al fine di migliorare l’accesso e la partecipazione di PwID alle attività sportive;
una guida allo sport e ai giochi “easy to read” che aiuterà le persone con disabilità intellettiva ad aumentare la propria autonomia fornendo loro indicazioni pratiche che li renderà in grado di preparare da soli attività sportive e giochi. Il metodo “easy-to-read” semplifica il processo di scrittura in informazioni piccole e importanti per il lettore, che combinate con materiale fotografico, sono facilmente percepite dalle PwID. L’obiettivo principale di questo metodo è di permettere alle PwID di comprendere le informazioni fornite sia dal materiale visivo che da quello scritto;
un corso di formazione per lo sviluppo delle capacità rivolto agli allenatori sportivi e ai professionisti che lavorano con le PwID per sviluppare le competenze volte a migliorare l’empowerment sociale attraverso lo sport.

The project INSIDE (INcluSion of people with Intellecutal DisabilitiE) is a project promoted in the framework of the European Programme Erasmus plus sport which aims to promote social inclusion and empowerment of people with intellectual disabilities (PwID) by improving their access to and participation in sport activities.
The objective of the project is twofold: on the one hand the creation of materials that will facilitate the access of PwID in sport activities and games and on the other hand the improvement of the professionals’ skills regarding the empowerment of PwID through sport.
For this reason, the project aims to implement
– an innovative empowering methodology for sports and games that will act as a tool for professionals in order to improve PwIDs’ access to and participation in sports activities;
– an “easy-to-read” sports and games guide that will help people with intellectual disabilities to increase their autonomy by providing them with practical guidance that will enable them to prepare sports activities and games by themselves. The “easy-to-read” method simplifies the writing process into small and important information for the reader, which combined with photographic material is easily perceived by PwIDs. The main objective of this method is to enable PwIDs to understand the information provided by both visual and written material;
– a capacity-building training course for sports coaches and professionals working with PwIDs to develop skills to improve social empowerment through sport.
